The best red potato salad :D

Just made this yesterday and it's super yummy and a good for summer dish. So I figured I'd share how to make it (: I'm not too keen on the actual amount of each ingredient I used since I made a big batch and just eyeballed the amounts... sorry if you're one of those precise measuring people! :P

What you need:

(as much as you want to use!)

- Cooked and cubed red skin potatoes
- Finely chopped green onion
- Finely chopped round onion
- Bacon, crisped and crumbled (or toast some bacon bits)
- Mayonnaise
- Salt and pepper to taste

What to do:

Just mix all the ingredients together and enjoy! Trust me, it's delicious (:

NOTD + Avon review, etc.

So, my Avon haul came in a few days ago... I got a nailpolish, a lipgloss, and I was supposed to get a dual sided liner/shadow brush but it was not available :( Anyways, here's my take on their nail polish:

I got it in "Classic rose." It's a nice baby pink color.

It's very glossy, shiny, and subtly bold. I like Avon's polish because it goes on smoothly, dries pretty quickly (I have major probs with polish drying slowly and tacky) and doesn't get dull or chip easily. I'm planning on getting more of their polish soon! I wish I was pro at nail art like Nikki from Askmewhat's :( lol. She is Queen of nail art :D I can barely manage to paint my nails on my right hand using my left -_-;; I am NOT ambidextrous, apparently xD

I also got one of their Colortrend rollerball lipglosses in watermelon. All of this stuff was on sale so it was cheap :D It smells super sweet like candy and tastes good too (:

There is pretty much no color or sparkle and it goes on sheer and clear. It's not sticky at all (kind of hydrating actually) and doesn't dry out my lips. It gives off nice shine and lasts relatively long.

And that was all I really had to review for today. So I'll leave with some pics of Muffin...

...Do you remember me?
I'm a big kitten now. I'm FAT.

I'm also vicious and NOT cuddly at all unless I'm tired. Which I was in this picture but I don't look like it huh. Mommy has to hold me super tight so I don't claw her face. Which I've done two times already! :D

I like to bite mommy and daddy and everyone else. I still climb legs, chairs, screen doors, you name it. I'm a pro at climbing (and looking innocent while doing it). And now I'm tired. I'm also expert at sleeping. Which is what I'm going to do now. Bye!

Haha okay enough from fat cat. On another note, I've lost enough weight to finally perfectly fit that skirt I got from Oahu :D It was a bit too snug before. Thank you Wii fit! lol. I've dropped ~5 lbs. since I graduated ^_^ Excuse teh dirty mirror lol.

Lip: gloss, stick, balm, you name it.

So incase I haven't mentioned it, I'm a big lip-product freak (mainly balm & gloss) even though I hardly wear anything on my lips, I have this OCD tendency to buy any and every lip product that catches my eye :S Anyone else like that? Lol.

I personally hate anything STICKY or tacky. I don't care how nice the color is or how good it smells, if it's sticky, it's a no-go. I don't buy anything with plumpers in it (my lips are full enough, hate it :( don't need any of that stuff lol). I like products with minimal, natural ingredients; but that offer buildable color, shine, and moisture.

I was curious on everyone elses views on lip products! So what's your take on lipgloss, lipstick, lipbalm, lip treatments, lip plumper, etc.?

What are your favorites? What makes a good/bad lip product in your opinion?

Edamame rice!

I've been eating lots of Nametake mushrooms & rice lately... soooo oishiiii~ hehe :3 If you haven't tried it, try it! It's good (: Figured I'd post the recipe of one of my favorite Japanese food bites since it's healthy AND yummy.

Edamame rice

Ingredients:
4 cups rice, cooked and cooled
1 bottle ochazuke wakame furikake
1 bottle Shirakiku nametake mushrooms
1 package frozen, shelled edamame

Directions:
Cook soybeans for 7 minutes in boiling water, then drain. Mix rice, furikake, mushrooms, and edamame in a large bowl. Easy! Eat up (:

And for those shy to try, here's some info on the health benefits that might change your mind (;

Here's what you'll find in a half-cup serving of shelled edamame (or 1 1/8 cup edamame in the pods):

120 calories
9 grams fiber
2.5 grams fat
1.5 grams polyunsaturated fat (0.3 grams plant omega-3 fatty acids)
0.5 gram monounsaturated fat
11 grams protein
13 grams carbohydrate
15 mg sodium
10% of the Daily Value for vitamin C
10% Daily Value for iron
8% Daily Value for vitamin A
4% Daily Value for calcium

As you can see, that little serving of edamame gives you a bunch of fiber: 9 grams, about the same amount you'll find in 4 slices of whole-wheat bread or 4 cups of steamed zucchini. It has almost as much protein as it does carbohydrate. It contains around 10% of the Daily Value for two key antioxidants; vitamins C and A. And for a plant food, it's quite high in iron; it has about as much as a 4-ounce roasted chicken breast.

Long overdue cosmetic wipes reviews

First off, I'd just like to say thank you everyone who has given me congratulations on my graduation! :D It's so nice of all of you (: I've been able to sleep in super late and just enjoy my days free of school, ignorant people, and any form of work (for now).

Anyways, I figured it's about time to do my long overdue cosmetic wipes reviews... so here's the lineup I've tested lately:

Equate Facial Cleansing Towelletes

Pros: Inexpensive, thick/quilted texture, soft scent, hygenic packaging, effectively removes makeup, doesn't sting eyes.

Cons: the bottom towellets become very saturated with m/u remover over time.

What I thought about it: These makeup removing towelletes are one of the best and cheapest I've ever used. The quilted texture is soft and the towelletes are thick enough to effectively remove most makeup with minimal scrubbing. There is no heavy scent (but there is a scent). They come in a handy pop-top container and resealable packaging too. The only thing I'd have to say as for complaints is that over time, the towelletes at the bottom of the package become very saturated with the makeup remover, which is not a good feeling for your face :P

Epielle Cucumber Cleansing Tissues

Pros:
Smells GREAT! Effectively removes makeup, inexpensive, doesn't sting eyes, thin, soft texture, cucumber, vitamin E, alo.

Cons: None!

What I thought about it: These are by far my current favorite makeup removing wipes. They smell delicious (not kidding!). If you've ever had Fruit Go candy... the melon flavor; that's exactly what these smell like! Mmmm (; Hehe. Despite being very thin, they effectively remove most makeup without stinging my eyes. And for only $1.99, these were a steal :D

Eyeko Face Off Wipes

Pros: effectively removes makeup, cute individual packages.

Cons: not that cheap, wipes become a bit dry after opening, alcohol scent.

What I thought about it: So, these definitely take the cake for cute, travel-friendly packages. However, for more than $8 for 20 (have to order online), I wouldn't go out of my way to buy more than the samples I received. They work pretty well at removing makeup, however, they do become a bit dry and work less well once exposed to the air for a few minutes. They also have this alcohol scent... like hand sanitizing wipes. They do contain Vitamin E and aloe though, so that's a plus. Overall, these aren't the greatest.

Clean & Clear Makeup Dissolving Facial Cleansing Wipes

Pros: effectively removes makeup, thick, soft texture.

Cons: leaves a slight oily residue, stings a bit, soft scent.

What I thought about it: I got a sample pack of these from Seventeen (took forever to come in). And I'd have to say that I'm not impressed. I have never been a fan of Clean and Clear's products, and this is no exception. It says it is Oil-Free but it left a distinct oily residue on my face and hands after I used the wipes. They do effectively work at removing makeup though (stung the area around my eyes a bit), but they do have some kind of soft scent that I can't really put my finger on if it's good or bad :/

Big Up's to Ulta (:

So, if you read my post about how my first experience with Ulta went, you'll know how disappointed I was. And now, I'm here to tell you how impressed I am! (: The Production Manager of Ulta's online store read my post and contacted me right away to apologize. Since the only thing I could do was send back my order, wait for credit, and order the same things again, that's exactly what I did.

However, Ulta kindly sent me a nicely packaged box stuffed full of lovely samples and some full-size products (probably from their 20 sample offer that I thought I couldn't get since it was only available to ship via ground... but I still got it :D). So I'd have to say that I am pleasently surprised and pleased with the high-quality of Ulta's customer service and dedication to customer satisfaction (:

On another note, my penguin friend came back to me (: Bought this for the hubby last xmas since the previous xmas season one I bought him was getting a little beat up. But he never used it (scared of getting it dirty, pffft). So I took it back hehe. (: Since we're (or I am, at least lol) huge penguin loving freaks, I couldn't resist dishing out 60 bucks each for these things ;A; So anyways,

What is/are your favorite animal(s)? Anything animal-related you just can't resist buying?

I'm a sucker for keychains and stuffed animals :P

I DID IT!!!

I can't believe HS is over :DDD Commencement went by a lot faster than I expected. Whoo! It's such a good feeling (for me at least, lol). It was a bittersweet night but I'm just glad it's done. Can't wait to start a new chapter in my life!!!

Cheese biscuits... yumZ

Gosh I feel like it's the weekend lol. Haven't been to school for awhile... can't believe it's almost done! So anyways, the hubs and I made some yummy snacks yesterday and it's all gone today :( So I figured I'd share this recipe with everyone since it's super easy and "yum-O" (I love me some Rachel Ray haha). We made them into hearts (:

Cheese Biscuits!

Ingredients:
2 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
2 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup grated cheese (mozzarella, Parmesan, Monterey Jack, or any other favorite)
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3/4 cup milk
What to do:
1. In large mixing bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and grated cheese.
2. Add oil and milk. Mix well.
3. Turn onto a clean, ungreased surface and knead 8-10 times.
4. Pat or roll dough into a rectangle. Cut shapes using a biscuit cutter.
5. Lay biscuits on a sturdy greased cookie sheet and bake at 375-400 degrees for 10-15 minutes.

Tip: It is not necessary to flour the surface when kneading, as this does not stick to the surface.

Boo on Ulta & a giveaway

Thanks for everyone that commented on my last look! I can't wait to see all the contestants :D If you haven't thought up your look yet, I'd say just roll with anything lol. I didn't have any idea what to do so I just made something up as I went (;

Anyways, I just received my Ulta order in the mail today and I have to say how disappointed I was. The box was extremely banged up. I've never received a package in such condition -_-;; And secondly, a bottle of bath gel I got as a free sample apparently had a broken cap or something because it leaked green goo ALL OVER the rest of the items in my order. Plus, it smelled so perfumey and it was sticky and just horrible. I didn't even bother trying to salvage anything because it was just coated in the stuff. So I'll be returning this hopefully for an exchange of the same items... if they give me a hard time about that I'll be even more disappointed with them =_=+ UGHH.

Oh and only 2 more days until commencement! I am so excited hehe. I am mostly over my sick but I'm still coughing up a storm and it sucks. It makes it so hard to sleep :( Anywho, I would also like to post about Cherrielantern's first giveaway! You could win 2 of these cute little critters (: So check out her blog and her Crystalize Me blog for more details!
