The good stuff:
- Relatively inexpensive
- Cute!
- Leaves skin feeling soft, smooth, and clean
- Seemed to improve my complexion
- Smells nice
- Tingling/cooling sensation
The low-down:
- Burns like hell if you get it in your eyes
- Does NOT foam
- Have to keep buying refill pads, pricey
- Contains menthol... a no-no ingredient for me
- Cooling sensation became unpleasant for me
My take: I was wary to buy this because Michelle Phan's claims that it just vibrates and you're better of scrubbing your face with an electric toothbrush. But since it was on sale, I figure what the heck, might as well try it. Overall, I think it is a decent product. All it does really, is vibrate :P But I will say that it did leave my skin looking nice/feeling nice. If only the refill pads weren't so expensive for so little!
I've pretty much come to the conclusion that every Neutrogena product in existance that claims that it is "foaming," DOES NOT FOAM. This is no exception. It foamed up a bit when I really scrubbed my face with it, but I don't really want to have to do that all the time. Also, it reaaaally burns if it gets in your eyes! :( Another downer is that it contains menthol, which really irritates my skin. Although the cooling sensation it gives off was nice at first, it did get a bit too strong for me in the end, even after rinsing off. All in all, I think it's a good/okay product, but it's not as revolutionary as it claims. I can get the same results scrubbing my face with a good cleanser.
Would I repurchase: No.

Omgosh! I was literally on my way to do a review on this. I've had it a couple of months and although, I don't use it everyday (maybe 3x a wk) I like it. I find that yes, it doesn't foam but if you wet your face and the wave w/ pad on and start rubbing in circular motions on your face and then splash some more water it does indeed foam. I got the duo with two speeds and I find that even after using a moist makeup removing towelette & then using the wave to wash my face, it helps remove even more makeup residue than just a normal wash would do.
ReplyDeleteBummer you're not a fan :(
Ahh thank goodness you done a review - i'm no longer thinking should i? shouldn't i? I think i'd give it a miss hehehe! And was there a particular reason you put "vibrate" in bold? with a smiley face? hahahhaa >;]
ReplyDeleteHope you're good lovely.
great review! but if it stings your skin, then ouch! =P
ReplyDeleteI think normal scrubbing works better for me, hehe.. ^^
Great review. Sucks that it's irritating for you though. But I hear good things about this & that Clarisonic Mia. Could you use it with your own cleanser? or does it HAVE to be their pads?
ReplyDeletehmm i totally agree that the refill pads are bit pricey and this is reason that when they run out i will not repurchase i have a scrub glove for the face and i find that it gives similar results
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you did a review on this. I was looking forward to buying one when I found one on sale at Target on black friday, but I changed my mind and decided to wait. Now I'm glad I did because your review just helped me make my decision and I will not be purchasing this.
ReplyDeletei was actually thinking of getting this for some time now, thanks for doing the review, cuz i think i'll pass on this one hehe!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't foam and it burns? Total suckville. Thanks for letting us know.
ReplyDeleteto make it foam, you gotta rub the wave on the tip of your nose. lol it really does work. :)
ReplyDeleteSorry about that! My Akismet filter keeps filtering out comments that have lots of > and < in them. I don't know how to stop this T_T; still figuring it out.
