No cam, handwriting analysis, FOTD

UGH! I have been sneezing and coughing for the past 7 or so hours... my eyes are watering and my nose is running AND I'm going between cold/hot with a headache. I'm hoping this is allergies and I'm not sick!!

Anyways, my camera is off to the mainland to get fixed since the flash doesn't work :P So I won't be able to take pictures or do reviews for... who knows how long lol xD BOO! :( I do have my cell phone cam tho it takes okay pics :P (see below). Cruised it at Honda today for a little while.

(click pics to biggify... you can see my freckles look closely xD)

And here's my quick FOTD to show you how the iQQU is going... It definitly makes my complexion and tone look a lot better and smoother but I'm still waiting for it to lighten my freckles~ You really only need a little little bit to cover your whole face... less than pea size. So far, I'm liking the results. I'm not wearing any foundation in this FOTD, besides for powder under my eyes!!

[Face]
  • iQQU Advance Sunscreen
[Eyes]
  • Lancome eyeshadow quad (thank you Krystal!)
    - "Bikini Golden" all over lid
    - "Honeymoon" highlight below brow
    - "Guest List" on lid
    - "Dill" in outer-V
  • NYX felt tip liner pen in Dark Brown
  • Rimmel Exaggerate black eyeliner
  • Physician's Formula eyebrow pencil in Dark Brown
  • ELF eyebrow Treat and Tame in Dark
  • Sephora eyebrow palette #2
  • NYX jar concealer in Beige

[Lips]
  • EDM Natural lipgloss in Lemon Spice
  • EDM Natural lipgloss in Siesta
  • Avon Colortrend rollerball lipgloss in Watermelon
Also, here's something fun for you guys to do (: I did this awhile ago but I forgot what the results were so I decided to do it again :D It's really fun you should try it! (click the link at the bottom)! The results are pretty accurate too hehe.

Handwriting Analysis

The results of your analysis say:

You plan ahead, and are interested in beauty, design, outward appearance, and symmetry.
This one is spot on!
You are a social person who likes to talk and meet others.
I suppose I am (on blogger atleast :P)? Although I'm more of a private/reserved person in real life now.
You are affectionate, passionate, expressive, and future-oriented.
This one is also spot on (most of the time, unless I'm in a bad mood :P)

You are not very reserved, impatient, self-confident and fond of action.
This one is half-half. I am not very self-confident and fond of action however I am reserved and impatient.

You enjoy life in your own way and do not depend on the opinions of others.
This is true... I don't really depend on the opinions of others, but I do take them into account.

What does your handwriting say about YOU?

Oh and please do my POLL (: I'm interested to see what you lovelies are interested in!~ Thank you!!

Photomanips & celeb bashing

One of Julie's recent posts on Demi Lovato spurred me to practice some photomanipulating again... I haven't done this in awhile! The last one I did was of Victoria Beckham... check out that skin... yuck!

I don't particularly care for Demi... I think she's pretty fugly :/ So here's my attempt to make her a bit more aesthetically pleasing...

What actors/actresses/singers/etc. can you NOT stand?

I don't like Miley Cyrus AT ALL. I think she's a horrible role model... Google her name and this is the first thing that comes up... tits, tits, WTF? A PICTURE WITH CLOTHES!!, tits, slutty gum swapping, and tits. Um, YEAH. Imagine little girl fans googling her name and this is what they discover -_-;;

I read her article in Seventeen (years ago, mind you) and she was bragging about her "big boobs and curves." If I recall correctly, her "big boobs and curves" have only been popping up as of late... and they're nothing as spectacular as Lindsay Lohan's magically appearing tatas.

And who can forget this?

iQQU whaa? & Rants

I'm totally wired on like... 20 hours of House(!) I'm in a blunt kind of mood so bear with me lol xD

My iQQU order came in today... from Thailand O_o I had no idea it came from there... I mean I know this stuff is supposed to be the ish and all but should this make me feel funny it's not from USA? Or should this make me feel good? Lol.

Anyways, I haven't tried it yet but I'm hoping with all my might that this is NOT going to be one of those products that I'm going to regret buying later....

The packaging is simple and sleek,

But it's so SMALL!!! I mean I'm sure it'll last a long time and the site clearly stated 30ml of product... but I'm not exactly going to be sitting there invisioning the exact size a 30ml tube of product is going to be... :( I paid $36+ for this stuff ;A;

It barely fits in the palm of my hand
... Like I said though, I'm sure it's great and all, but I'm just the kind of person that doesn't like super small size products unless they're mini samples -_-;; Anyways, will try this out next week and see how it does... review coming soon!

UGH! Also, this is why I hate dealing with people on ebay:

I bought a rear emblem for my car but I neglected to think about the size and the one I got ended up being too big. I didn't open the package at all and it's in mint condition but they seller won't let me return it. I asked 3x already if I could just return it for a refund but I've been answered with "I'll give you a smaller one for 50% off" So I thought about that for awhile and forgot about it for a couple weeks and messaged them back today. I said it's okay, can I just return it and get a refund? I was met with "Shipping back to Israel is too expensive. I'll sell you another for 30% off." (in horribly broken english, mind you).

Now I'm kind of peeved and getting the picture that I'm not going to get my money back. Even if it wasn't a lot of $$, I could still use it. And this is why I dislike dealing with ebay -_-;; SO, if anyone needs a newer model civic emblem, let me know lol. I'll pretty much just GIVE it to you xD

HOWEVER, I will deal with sellers who have good ratings :P I just purchased Skin Food's Lime Secret Glow Pact #3 and Etude House's Color me nude lip concealer from sellers Whit reccommended.... hope these live up to their good reviews lol since I've been needing a new pressed powder and always wanted to try Etude House products.

NOTDs & polish swatches

So... I've painted my nails again since Dana sent me so many lovely nailpolishes! I immediately fell in love with this color (she remembered my fav color is lime green! :D).

Also painted my toenails with the ELF polish I just got. I have to say I'm very satisfied with their nail polish! This color is "Blush," a soft, metallic, coppery rose color (nail art stickers courtesy Dana!) The ELF polish dries pretty quickly and doesn't chip right away like a lot of people said (for me at least). Their swatches aren't the most accurate, but the colors I got are still pretty nonetheless. I would definitely pay $1 for this nail polish.

Also, here's some swatches of the polishes from Dana and my ELF haul. Click to biggify.

How-to: customize sidebar headings

Since I already did one, I figure I might as well do another html/css tutorial! This one is a lot easier than the other one.

If you've ever tried changing the font, color, size, and appearance of your sidebar titles using Blogger's "fonts and colors," you'll realize that you are quite limited in what you can do. Basically, you can only change the size, color, and font (and it's only capital letters!). Also, it doesn't only apply to the sidebar headings. It will change any headings you have. In this tutorial I wanted to explain how you can spiff up those headings and make them more personalized (:

First off, I usually use the Minima template as a base. Idk if it's all the same for the other templates (I think it is) but all my base coding comes from there.

You'll need to go to Dashboard > Layout > Edit html. Scroll until you find this:

/* Headings
----------------------------------------------- */

This is where the editing will take place. This should be the only section of code:
h2 {
margin:1.5em 0 .75em;
font:$headerfont;
line-height: 1.4em;
text-transform:uppercase;
letter-spacing:.2em;
color:$sidebarcolor;}
h2 means that editing the code will customize ALL h2 headings. I'm assuming you'd want your sidebar headings to be differently customizable from the rest of your headings :P So, replace that whole section of code with this:
#sidebar h2 {
width:XXXpx;
background-image: url(XXX);
background-position:XXX;
background-repeat:XXX;
display:block;
font-family:XXX;
font-size: XXXpx;
line-height:XXXpx;
text-transform:XXX;
color: #XXX;
border: XXpx solid #XXX;
background-color:XXX;
font-weight:XXX;
text-align:XXX;
margin-top:XXXpx;}
By changing it to sidebar h2, now only the sidebar headings will be affected. Also, if you have more than one sidebar (like in my case) and you want each sidebar to have different style headings, you'll have to assign each element different names besides just "sidebar h2." For example, "#sidebar-left h2" and "#sidebar-right h2."

That made it almost TOO easy eh? lol xD I've included in this new code practically all the attributes you can apply to your headers. All you have to do is replace the XXX's with your own specifications. You can delete attributes if you don't need them (delete the whole line) or add new attributes if you'd like, for example: border-bottom: 1px solid;

Have fun editing!

Happy b-day & Avon nail polish review #2

EDIT: Oh yeah! Forgot to mention my giveaway is now over! Thank you to everyone who entered! I'll be picking the winner tonight... will announce tomorrow!

So today was my Mom's birthday (: we just had a simple steak dinner @ home. It was a nice relaxing day for everyone lol (pssst! It's also Honey Bunny's b-day today hehe :D). Anyways I decided to re-do my nails today with the new nail polish I ordered from Avon so I figure I'd do a little overview on both polishes. Sorry no pictures today!

Avon Nail Experts Pearl Shine Polish

I wanted to love this polish, I really did :( But I'm not impressed with it at all. It claims to "Leaves nails with a lustrous pearl finish... and a healthy buffed look. Helps strengthen with vitamins. Brushes on fast... dries instantly."

Well, it does dry pretty instantly. However, it did NOT leave my nails with a "Lustrous pearl finish," it was more of a dull, buffed look. I can't say this is completely bad, but it just wasn't what I'd expected. It's fine for a natural "clean" nails look. It looks so pretty in the bottle too :(

Avon Nail Experts Smooth Beginnings Base Coat

At least this was something I could be satisfied with. Even this base coat polish had waaayy more shine than the Pearl Shine polish :P It definitely smooth out nail ridges and prepped my nails for a smooth coat of polish. Dried quickly.

Here's what Avon had to say about it: Evens out ridges. Enriched with Okume oil to help nails look healthy, it's a great start to the perfect manicure. I'd have to agree here (:

Aaand! Today was our 1 year and 11 month anniversary (:

We didn't do anything special since my mom was queen today xD

Can't believe it's nearly been 2 years lol... funny to think back on those days when we met 4 years ago xD There's just that one person that you know will end up being special in your life from the moment you meet them. I've always thought people can't change and guys are all the same but he proved me wrong. It's been hella tough times but also those unforgettable moments... and I still wouldn't want to go through it with anyone else ♥

How-to: Customize blogger comments

I figure I would do a blogger tutorial, since I haven't had much beauty-related posts to do. This is something decently easy to do (assuming you have a general understanding of html/css) and really can add a personal touch to your blog (:

HOW TO CUSTOMIZE YOUR BLOGGER COMMENTS

I'll use the comment format from the "TicTac Blue" template since I find it the most readily customizable. You can refer to the image below.

I'll explain each part of the comments code you can customize. First, you'll have to go to: Dashboard > Layout > Edit html

Scroll until you find the section of code that starts with:
/* comment styles */

This is where all the editing will take place.
This should be the first section of code:

#comments {
padding: 10px 10px 0px 10px;
font-size: 85%;
line-height: 1.5em;
color: #666;
background: #eee url(http://www.blogblog.com/tictac_blue/comments_curve.gif) no-repeat top $startSide;
}
Padding is how much space is around the comment text. I change mine to all 0px. More padding will push the text into a smaller space.

Font-size alters how big the comment text will be. I change the percent to a pixel (#px) size.

Line-height alters the height of the text. I also change this to pixel size. Usually line height would be the same as the font size unless you want more space between each line of text.

Color alters the color of the comment text. You can use a hex code or color name. Use http://www.colorpicker.com/ to get hex codes.

Background alters well, the background! In the picture you'll see that the background is light gray (#eee) along with a url for a background image (the curve at the top). You can either use a solid color for your background (delete from "url" on). Or use another image url for a background.

I also add the text-align property so you can left, right, center, or justify-align your text.

***You can add text attributes anywhere you want to edit the look of the text.
For example:
text-align: left;
text-transform: lowercase;
line-height: 12px;
letter-spacing: -1px;

This should be the second section of code:

#comments h4 {
margin-top: 20px;
margin-$endSide: 0;
margin-bottom: 15px;
margin-$startSide: 0;
padding-top: 8px;
padding-$endSide: 0;
padding-bottom: 0;
padding-$startSide: 40px;
font-family: "Lucida Grande", "Trebuchet MS";
font-size: 130%;
color: #666;
background: url(http://www.blogblog.com/tictac_blue/bubbles.gif) no-repeat 10px 0;
height: 29px !important; /* for most browsers */
height /**/:37px; /* for IE5/Win */
}
Comments H4 is the Comment header. In the picture, it's "3 Comments" and "Post a comment"

Margins will push the block of comment text up, down, left, or right (I don't use $endSide, I replace with left and right). They won't squish the text like padding does.

Padding attributes can be edited accordingly. Again, I don't use $endSide. I replace with left and right.

Font-family is the font the header will be in. I only use one. "Georgia" for example.

Font-size alter the header size. Again, I usually change to pixel size.

Color will alter the header color.

Background (in this case, the little speech bubbles) can be changed with a different image url. It's best if the image is around the same height as the text line-height. You can delete the code starting with "background" if you don't want one.

Remember, you can add whatever attributes you want.

The next two sections of code should be:
#comments ul {
margin-$startSide: 0;
}

#comments li {
background: none;
padding-$startSide: 0;
}
UL stands for Unordered list. LI stands for List item. I just take those two sections of code and replace it with this:

#comments ul {
margin-left: 0;
}

#comments li {
background: none;
padding-left: 0;
}
The next section of code deals with the Comment body.

.comment-body {
padding-top: 0;
padding-$endSide: 10px;
padding-bottom: 0;
padding-$startSide: 25px;
background: url(http://www.blogblog.com/tictac_blue/tictac_blue.gif) no-repeat 10px 5px;
}
Padding attributes can be edited accordingly.

Background (in this case, the little blue bullet) can be changed with a different image url. It's best to use a small image. You can delete the background code if you don't want one. You can replace it with a solid color, just add: display:block; to the code. You can also add borders: border: 1px solid #000000; for example if you want a border around the comment body.

You might have to edit the padding and background attributes according to the image you use.

The next section of code deals with the amount of space there is below the comment body:
.comment-body p {
margin-bottom: 0;
}
Margin-bottom alters the space below the comment and the comment footer... a higher number = a bigger space.

The next section of code customizes the Comment author; the link to the person who posted the comment.

.comment-author {
margin-top: 4px;
margin-$endSide: 0;
margin-bottom: 0;
margin-$startSide: 0;
padding-top: 0;
padding-$endSide: 10px;
padding-bottom: 0;
padding-$startSide: 60px;
color: #999;
background: url(http://www.blogblog.com/tictac_blue/comment_arrow_blue.gif) no-repeat 44px 2px;
}
Margins and padding attributes can be edited accordingly.

Color alters the link color of the comment author. You can add more text attributes to this if you want.

Background (in this case, the little orange blogger symbol) can be changed with a different image url. It's best to use a small image. You might have to mess around with the pixels depending on the background image you use.

The next section of code deals with the Comment footer; the date the comment was posted.
.comment-footer {
border-bottom: 1px solid #ddd;
padding-bottom: 1em;
}
Border-bottom will change the line separating each comment. You can delete this line of code if you don't want one.

Padding attributes can be altered accordingly. You can add more text attributes if you wish.

The last section of comment customization code deals with Deleted comments:

.deleted-comment {
font-style:italic;
color:gray;
}
This is the way the text that says "Comment has been deleted by..." will look. In this case, it's italic and gray font. You can change this and add attributes if you wish.

This is how I customized my comments to look using the Tictac Blue comments template as a base.

I hope this tutorial helped clear up some of the basics of customizing blogger comments (: If not, please let me know and I'll try to explain a little better! This is pretty uncharacteristic of me to give away my personalized coding so freely, but if you would like to learn off my comment CSS, here is my coding:

/* Comments
----------------------------------------------- */
#comments {
padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px;
color: #222222;
text-align:justify!important;
background: #ffffff url() no-repeat top left;
}

#comments h4 {
margin-top: 10px;
margin-right: 0;
margin-bottom: 15px;
margin-left: 0;
padding-top: 8px;
padding-right: 0;
padding-bottom: 0;
padding-left: 10px;
font-family: "Georgia";
font-size: 130%;
color: #D88080;
background: url() no-repeat 10px 0;
height: 29px !important; /* for most browsers */
height /**/:37px; /* for IE5/Win */
}

#comments ul {
margin-left: 0;
}

#comments li {
background: none;
padding-left: 0;
}

.comment-body {
padding-top: 0px;
padding-right: 10px;
padding-bottom: 10px;
padding-left: 15px;
background: url(http://i44.tinypic.com/kezryc.gif) no-repeat 0px 5px;
}

.comment-body p {
margin-bottom: 5px;
}

.comment-author {
margin-top: 4px;
margin-right: 0;
margin-bottom: 0;
margin-left: 0;
padding-top: 0;
padding-right: 10px;
padding-bottom: 0;
padding-left: 40px;
color: #000;
background: url(http://i43.tinypic.com/35dc16v.gif) no-repeat 25px 2px;
}

.comment-footer {
border-bottom: 0px dashed #FEFEEE;
padding-bottom: 10px;
padding-top: 10px;
text-align:right;
}

.deleted-comment {
font-style:italic;
color:gray;
}

This may make things a little more clear as to what I've replaced and added from the original coding. If you want to customize your comments similarly to mine, just replace all your original comment coding with my code and edit away! Good luck & have fun (:
