Your thoughts on...

The new ELF Studio line items? Here's some of the most recent items added to their Studio line. I am sooo, soo tempted to try the lippies, but of course, I NEVER have good experiences with ELF lippies :(

What do you think of the new items? Anything you want to try? Have tried?

ELF: 4.5 out of 5
MUA: 3 out of 5

From the reviews:

As usual, the swatches suck.
Some say sticky, some say not.
Some say stain, some say lipstick consistency
I would read the MUA review, since it seems the most helpful and honest.

ELF: 4 out of 5

From the reviews:

Again, swatches suck.
Sheer, sheer, sheer.
Minty, toothpaste taste
Good or bad?

No reviews yet. It claims to drench the lips in moisture plus sun protection. Hrrrm, here are the ingredients: Hydrogenated Polyisobutene Polyethylene Wax Ceresine Wax Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Microcrystalline Wax, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Methyparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben.

Not only is it loaded with parabens, click here to read about phenoxyethanol, the "sunscreen." Apparently, its use in cosmetics is prohibited in Japan.

ELF rating system is WHACK. If you hover over the stars, it says "Perfect, doesn't get any better." Yet it shows 4.5 stars :/
MUA: 4.3 out of 5

From the reviews:
The powder is white but blends on any skintone
Mattifies skin / absorbs oil
Smooth silky feel
Possible knockoff MUFE HD powder
I would read the MUA reviews, since one talks about it being extremly drying.

ELF: 5 out of 5 (one review)

From the review:
Compact, weighted nicely
High quality
Easy to open
Black and sleek
Dual magnification

It's cute, but personally, I wouldn't buy it.

ELF: 4 out of 5 (2 reviews)

From the reviews:
Flocked, velvety feel
Holds numerous brushes
Easy to clean,
But unnecessary

I reeeally want a brush holder, but don't think I'd buy this.

No reviews.

I'm assuming its just bigger. Kinda cool, but still wouldn't buy for $15

No reviews. I would want to read some first. It does contain methylparaben though.

No reviews. Here are the ingredients: Water(Aqua), Alcohol Denat,Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Methylparaben. It's basically water and alcohol with a cocamide to make it spread better AND it contains methylparaben. I would rather try this than the shampoo since it is more convenient, but I'd still like to read reviews first.

While I do think that quite a few of the Studio products are well worth it and even considered some of my HG's, I think the Studio line still has its flaws. For example, the ingredients used, or lack thereof. The concealer pencil claims to contain tea tree oil. I love love this pencil but when I received it, tea tree oil was not listed in the ingredients.. hrmm, false advertising? Also, lots of the products contain parabens and other ingredients to be wary of.

So far, the products from their studio line that I've had the most success with are:
  • Concealer pencil and brush - works great, just doesn't last very long.
  • Eyeliner and shadow stick - works great, but it smudges quickly.
  • Mini makeup collection - the eyeshadows and blush/bronzer are well worth it!
  • Complexion perfection powder - works good enough.
  • Eyebrow Treat and tame - Works works works. For me at least.
  • Concealer brush - LOVE LOVE LOVE. HG concealer brush right here ♥
  • Kabuki brush - Decent. I liked that it's firm and compact, but it was a liiiitle scratchy.

Stuff I wouldn't reccommend:

  • 2 in 1 conditioning gloss - basically a clear gloss. VERY STICKY.
  • Corrective concealer - Sheer sheer sheer. Yet you can feel it sitting on your face.
  • Makeup remover cleansing cloths - Alcohol smell, stings eyes, crap at removing makeup

What's your loves & hates from the Studio line?

  1. Hey hun! Thanks for the sweet comment :)

Gosh I love ELF cosmetics ^_^ they're so affordable! But sadly they don't sell any here in Australia and the website does not ship here either :(

Have a lovely day sweet <3

  2. wow is everything that ends up with PARABEN is bad?i didnt know.noooo.lol
i dont believe to use elf for base makeup, like concealer and their 1 dollar tinted moisturizer, must be nasty.lol

  3. i haven't tried any of their new items but i have my eyes on the hd powder!

  4. wow! thanks for the update! that's a lot of new stuff from ELF Studio! I'm definitely intrigued by the stain, brush cleaner and high def powder

  5. the completion brush you asked about last time, its really nice! i love that its soooo soft. i use it for my blush. :) actually, all the brushes from their studio line is very nice. hehe

stuff i would not recommend would have to be:
    lipstick and nail polish

  6. I got the mirror, HD powder and the small brush container during the 1/2 off sale. But I havent used any of it yet. The small brush container looks REALLY tiny. I thought it would be a little bigger than the one I have but it might actually be smaller =\

I have no interest in their brush cleaning products. I still have my brush cleaner from MAC (for almost a year now) and I still have more than half left. And I prefer to wash my brushes with baby shampoo, makes it smell good too!

While I am a fan of the ELF studio line, I suddenly feel like they're just putting new items out just to put them out =\

  7. HmMm, I've actually had very good experiences with their studio line products, and I've tried ALOT lol. The make up remover clothes I actually like alot, and I don't smell any alcohol, removes eye makeup great and doesn't sting much, it's actually the only cleansing clothes I'm using now. But I don't recommend their lip products, the only lip product I would recommend is their Mineral Lip Glosses, they are pretty decent.

  8. elf is everywhere nowadays... i personally dont have any elf merchandise. i looove their pricing buut since i live in canada, it ends up costing almost double once currency exchange/shipping/handling/duties are put in the equation... boo to border patrol >.<

  9. I am not a fan of any sort of false advertising. i used to like ELF alot but over some time I stopped reaching for it. I dun know why but I would like to give their new lip stain a try :)

  10. Dang... the studio line is always coming out with something new. Maybe I should try to wait til everything is out so I can get everything I want.

  11. please turn your music off. it's incredibly disruptive.

  12. ELF rarely works for me. So I usually just stick to tools & accessories from them.

  13. nice.. I didn't know that they had some new stuff...
yeh.. i always like to read reviews on them before I buy...
sorry I havne't tried any of these yet :(
I didn't like their lip glosses too!!! Made my lips very dry and sticky and some of them had a really nasty smell :P

  14. Wooow! I haven't been checking up on ELF lately so I had nooo idea they had all this new stuff! Oh man! (>_<) Ugh, too bad I'm on a limited online-shopping break for now. haha.

I love the Studio brushes, their eyeshadows, the eyebrow kit, and a couple other stuff, but I can't really think of them right now. haha. I wanna try their daily brush cleaner. I might get one from Clinique since they have that promo going on. :D

  15. i'm not big on their studio blush so far. Hmm. But the holder, it's nice, but I wouldn't spend $5 or $15 on the big one. You can buy something like that at a dollar store for $1.25.... haha thats where I found mine! and minty taste totally reminds me of toothpaste or the dentist. eeek!
