Clinique Superbalm & long last Glosswear review

I have always wanted to try Superbalm, so I got it in my last purchase from Clinique.com. It seems now they only have the tinted Superbalm moisturizing gloss though?? Anyways, here's my review.

Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment

Price:
$12

What they say: Deeply hydrating balm that helps to repair distressed lips and replenishes moisture loss.

Threw away the packaging so I don't know the ingredients and can't find info :(

The good stuff:
  • A little goes a long way
  • Smooths on easily
  • Feels conditioning (I wouldn't exactly say "moisturizing")
  • High shine
  • Long lasting
  • No smell/taste

The low-down:

  • SO SMALL!!!! Expensive for the amount
  • Sticky & thick -- more of a GLOSS than a balm IMO

My take: Overall, I like this "balm." Although it is very tiny, you don't need to use too much of it at a time. The biggest disappointment for me was that it is supposed to be a BALM but the consistency is rather thick and sticky like a gloss but it does have a high shine finish. I use this at night and in the morning my lips feel conditioned. I wouldn't really say moisturized though since although this sticky gloss does not dry out my lips, it did not seem to give any added moisture either. I pretty much like it, but it's not like I would rush out and buy another.

Would I repurchase: not anytime soon.

Clinique Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 in "Air Kiss"

I got this in my GWP, and I loveee it!

Price: $14

What they say: Lip gloss juiced up with 8 hours of lasting shine. Spends every minute comforting lips. In 18 glistening shades from sheer to full intensity. Moisture makes each one even more mouth-watering. Protects lips, too. Welcome to our juice bar.

What to do: Prepare lips for colour with All About Lips. Apply Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 alone or over Clinique lipstick to create a fuller look.

The good stuff:

  • Lasts all day
  • Goes on smooth
  • Sheer but buildable color
  • High shine
  • Did not dry out my lips

The low-down:

  • Sticky/tacky
  • Does not seem moisturizing

My take: This is one of (if not THE) only lipgloss that I have fallen in love with and will wear even though I have an EXTREME aversion to sticky glosses. I hate having to deal with hair getting stuck to my face and getting sticky fingers etc. but I just love love this gloss because it literally lasts ALL DAY even through eating/drinking in my experiences. Air kiss looks very pink in the tube but it is really super sheer. Layering the gloss makes the color show up better as a pretty light/nude baby pink. The shine is gorgeous but the same with the Superbalm, I would not claim that it moisturizes my lips but did not dry them out either -- one of my main problems with most sticky glosses, like Lancome Juicy tubes.

Would I repurchase: not anytime soon, maybe in the future though.

In the pic below, I layered the gloss over Etude House color me nude lip concealer.
