So I have a Mexican Walking Fish and he is pretty cool

I have this (possibly weird?) obsession with cute squishy aquatic creatures like squid, octopi, cuttlefish, and especially jellyfish... And one more interesting animal I've been super fascinated by is the axolotl. If you've never heard of an axolotl (pronounced ACK-suh-LAH-tuhl) before, read on!

It is pretty much a real-life Pokemon XD I only just recently found that they are actually NOT illegal in Hawaii! Our friend that owns a pet store here brought some in for me, so now I have one!

This is "Kiwi" when we first got him:

He is a Green Florescent Pigmented Axolotl and glows under black light.

I'm not sure how old he is but I've had him for 8 weeks now. He is surprisingly uncomplicated to care for, and is very entertaining to watch. I post videos & pics of him swimming n stuff on my Instagram.

Here's some facts about axolotls:

• It is a species of salamander (not to be confused with the waterdog aka tiger salamander)
• It remains in a larval stage throughout its adult life
• Lives permanently in water, up to 15 years
• It is carnivorous. Eats worms, shrimp/fish-based pellets, etc.
• They exist in the wild in only one place, the lake complex of Xochimilco near Mexico City
• Wild types are typically black or mottled brown. Other colors exist such as albino and white varieties, particularly among captive specimens. Wild populations are in decline due to habitat loss and pollution. Wild axolotls are considered a critically endangered species :(
• Can be quite large, reaching up to a foot in length, although the average size is closer to half that.
• Rather than forming scar tissue when wounded, tissues at the wound site convert to a stem cell-like state, meaning that they are able to re-grow missing tissue in its entirety, even a whole limb (HOW COOL IS THAT?!)

Kiwi more recently:

He is now about 3.5in long. In the first picture you could see he was missing most of his toes. They have since grown back :) The frilly things coming from his head are gills.

Axolotls have poor eyesight, so he relies on smell to find his food (I feed him sinking shrimp fish food pellets). Axolotls are messy eaters and make a lot of waste, so the tank collects particles. I siphon out the junk and do a water change once a week. Axolotls need to be kept in cool, de-chlorinated water, the optimum range is 60-64 °F. Apparently if they get heat-sick, it's a good idea to put them in the fridge (I've never had to do this so far). All in all, a very cool creature and I am glad to have him! Expect to see more of this little guy on my blog :)

Mail love & Happy-ness

I was at home today and the mailperson brought me this bigass box!
It was from Serenie!!! ♥

She got me some Palty & Rohto eye drops!!!!I am so excited to try the Palty cuz I've heard a lot of good things about it. I'm hoping for a nice auburnish brown color. Kinda scared to process my hair again tho... It'll be the 4th time in like a month's span XP

Thank you for the eye drops toooo! Like Wuzzy says, these are some mofo CRACKDROPS!!! The cooling sensation is like WHABAM! And then it gets all mellow and nice. Now I wanna try them all!

I have to say, hands down, these wipes are the SH!T. The cloth texture/thinness reminds me of Epielle wipes, the scent kinda like DHC wipes, and the makeup removing power = better than anything I've ever used! Plus no residue and it says it has collagen :D Thank you soooo much Lisa ♥

NOTD: cutesy pink!

So I re-did my nails today with the same Avon "Classic Rose" polish I posted about a few entries back. I still love it, it's as great as ever; dries quickly, smooth, glossy finish. This time I just added a line of white dots to add a bit more of a girly vibe to it.

This is super easy to do for those like me who are not ambidextrous or steady handed :P I just use a toothpick and white nail polish and dot dot dot dotted across the nail... then clear top coat.

Oh... and look who it IS... it's M U F F I N .

I just cut her nails and since she can't claw, she is BITING -_-;;

Ohh and I just wanted to note I've made it to 180 posts since last year! And approx. 1,000 people have stumbled upon my profile and blog. It's really a nice thing to know that people have found my blog interesting or helpful. I DO read each and every comment I receive and try to reply as much as I can (: Thank you everyone who has commented me and/or followed my blog! You all truly give me the inspiration to continue sharing some of my knowledge and experiences through blogging. I am thinking of doing a giveaway soon for my current followers... so stay tuned :3

NOTD + Avon review, etc.

So, my Avon haul came in a few days ago... I got a nailpolish, a lipgloss, and I was supposed to get a dual sided liner/shadow brush but it was not available :( Anyways, here's my take on their nail polish:

I got it in "Classic rose." It's a nice baby pink color.

It's very glossy, shiny, and subtly bold. I like Avon's polish because it goes on smoothly, dries pretty quickly (I have major probs with polish drying slowly and tacky) and doesn't get dull or chip easily. I'm planning on getting more of their polish soon! I wish I was pro at nail art like Nikki from Askmewhat's :( lol. She is Queen of nail art :D I can barely manage to paint my nails on my right hand using my left -_-;; I am NOT ambidextrous, apparently xD

I also got one of their Colortrend rollerball lipglosses in watermelon. All of this stuff was on sale so it was cheap :D It smells super sweet like candy and tastes good too (:

There is pretty much no color or sparkle and it goes on sheer and clear. It's not sticky at all (kind of hydrating actually) and doesn't dry out my lips. It gives off nice shine and lasts relatively long.

And that was all I really had to review for today. So I'll leave with some pics of Muffin...

I'm also vicious and NOT cuddly at all unless I'm tired. Which I was in this picture but I don't look like it huh. Mommy has to hold me super tight so I don't claw her face. Which I've done two times already! :D

I like to bite mommy and daddy and everyone else. I still climb legs, chairs, screen doors, you name it. I'm a pro at climbing (and looking innocent while doing it). And now I'm tired. I'm also expert at sleeping. Which is what I'm going to do now. Bye!

Haha okay enough from fat cat. On another note, I've lost enough weight to finally perfectly fit that skirt I got from Oahu :D It was a bit too snug before. Thank you Wii fit! lol. I've dropped ~5 lbs. since I graduated ^_^ Excuse teh dirty mirror lol.
