OOTD: Summer Fun

Took an impromptu roadtrip to the other side of the island (Kona) yesterday. Thought I should wear something a little summery since it's exceptionally hot & humid right now! Ironically it actually did end up raining on the way :P

I put the yellow lace-back top in the dyer too long on accident and it ended up shrinking into somewhat of a crop top. Initially I was mortified because I don't wear crop tops (don't feel like it's very flattering on my figure), but I guess it looks okay with this outfit! This was also day 4 of Figurerobics, and my legs are killing me! Hoping to really trim my thighs and arms. The white scalloped lace shorts are a size 5, which I hate to admit :'( I'm aiming to get back into 3's, or hopefully 1's!

A recent obsession I've developed recently has indubitably been over Loki (from Thor & The Avengers) aka Tom Hiddleston -- The man is a spectacular actor (and always so crushingly polite and charming in interviews *fangirling*), not to mention his portrayal of Loki was perfect to the T. So of course, I've been amassing obscene amounts of Loki'd/Hiddlestoned memorabilia... I regret nothing :P

Forever21 Clothes Haul + How to save your money: Opt-out of the magazine subscription! + PROMO CODE!

Hello everyone! Just wanted to share a recent order I made with F21. This time, I am happy to say that I am more or less satisfied with EVERYTHING I ordered. And this is a good thing because in my past unsatisfactory orders; I have come to discover the complete lack of customer service F21 has! So needless to say, I don't even bother contacting F21 anymore if I have complaints... because they don't reply to me at all, or if they do, their reply is never helpful! ...But I still love shopping there :P

Also, I have been receiving so many free magazine subscriptions from online stores I shop at... and it's been driving me nuts! I guess I never read the fine print about automatically getting a free sub with $XX purchase. But no, I do not want to read Teen Vogue or OK or Lucky! Ugh!

So this time, I decided to read the terms and conditions of the subscription offer upon checkout at F21. And I don't know if this is common knowledge and I am the only one behind on it (lol)... but as it turns out, you can opt-out of the magazine subscription and get money back for what the subscription was worth! $10, infact! :D All you have to do is fill out a form and mail it to F21 with a copy of your invoice within 30 days. Easy peasy.

I haven't mailed it out yet but better get it! -_-; But I have faith that they'll come through.

NOTD: Water Marbling Attempt #1 + Walmart Clothes/Polish Haul

Hello loves! Last night I was watching tutorials on youtube by SimpleLittlePleasures and was totally enamored with all of her water marble designs. I haven't tried this nail art technique yet, so I decided to give it a go... at 3am wtf! Lol. I tried a bunch of different patterns and dipping angles.. so each of my nails is different.

I used China Glaze Limonyte, OPI Oh So Glam!, and China Glaze It's Poppin

Right hand:

For those who are not familiar with the water marble technique, you need a small container with water, and then you drop polish into it. The polish spreads across the surface of the water, and you continue adding drops to create a "bullseye." When you have all the colors you want, you take an orange stick (I didn't have one so I used a bamboo skewer) and then gently draw designs in the polish. Then you dip your nail into the polish/water and voila! You get a pretty "marbled" design on your nails.

Water marbling is VERY trial and error. SimpleLittlePleasures recommends filtered, room temperature water. I used bottled water and it seemed to work okay. Also, finding polishes that marble well was a challenge. Limonyte barely spread out at all; it was too thick. It's Poppin spread out really well and showed up really bold. Oh So Glam! spread out really easily but was VERY sheer. I have not tried all my polishes with water marbling yet; but thick polishes are a no-go and so are sheer, shimmery polishes. If it takes more than 2 coats to be opaque on your nails; it will not work well with water marbling.

My right thumb was my fav :P

Left hand:

Turned out rather crappy :P Do not pull your finger out of the water too quickly and make sure to pick up the excess polish off the surface of the water with your orange stick/tool before taking your finger out of the water or else your design will smear (thumb). Also, don't try to double dip unless you have lots of empty space on your nail! I ruined my pinky by trying to do another layer.

I have since re-done my nails with another (better ;P) water marble design... which I will post tomorrow : )

I also hit up Walmart again since I was looking for more polishes to use with water marbling. I picked up some Pure Ice polishes for $2... pretty colors. Unfortunately, the purple and blue shades were too sheer/shimmery for water marbling. Gorgeous and great for a regular mani though! I used the pearl white polish as a base shade for my second water marble design and it worked well though!

And OMG. I found the bow top in PINK!!!!SOOOO HAPPPY!!! ^___^ If you like cute bows, I suggest you search your Walmart for these tops! They're only $9!

I also got a loose-fitting tunic-y top with a gorgeous crochet back for only $12! I've mentioned this a couple times but I LOVE LOVE LOVE crochet/lace back tops. Ignore the tag/bra straps lol.

Yes, I have no ass... lulz XD

I feel like it's about time for a post on a more *upbeat* note, after all the negativity that has been circulating due to the NYT circle lens article. So I'm here to share some fashion deals today ^.^ I don't ONLY go to Walmart to shop for makeup/skincare. I dabble in the clothing/shoe department from time to time. Sadly; all the cute shoes I want were too big for me, so I headed to clothes. I find some pretty awesome deals at Walmart from time to time ;)

I found the uber cutest shirt EVAR the other day. But they only had one, and only in blue :( Oh well, it's still super cute! The tag said $12 but when I bought it, it was $9! :D

The big bow is so kawaii. Love it ♥

And I found another grungy-vintage rocker-chic type shirt for only $9 too! They had a few more styles but I liked this one best because of the wing at the top and the fleur de lis in the corner : )

Idk if these tops are old news on the Mainland and we've just gotten them here in Hawaii or not; but I love them and they were so cheap. SO... you CAN find gems in the Walmart clothing department!

PS - Walmart bras are AWESOME (I think it's the Fruit of the Loom brand? The pink/white or black/pink ones). One of the best fits/lift I've EVER tried :P And, ONLY $10!!!

Craft Fair haul & news, Kona hauls, & Swatches: Revlon ColorBurst Soft Nude & ELF Baby Lips

Hello loves & new followers!

Just wanted to share what I hauled since I finally allowed myself off my self-imposed spending ban : ) Also, some quick news from the craft fair! I was approached by another vendor, asking if I would want to have a job designing new characters for their clothing line! We haven't worked out all the details yet, but it's an exciting start! Anywho...

I picked up these two bags from the craft fair we were at! ♥ I also found out that the lady I bought them from actually has a shop down the road from ours! She said she does not make them though, she just brings them in to sell... but she said they weren't selling! What?! How can bags THIS CUTE not get bought out?! They were a great price too... I know I'll be getting myself more in the future! (;

They are very spacious, sturdy, and feel well-made.

Lots of pockets and storage space!


We also went to Kona today to visit my Grandma (mom's side). She is recovering from knee surgery and is doing really well : ) So I got to do some shopping while we were there!

Shoes from K-Mart! I love going there JUST to look at shoes.

Yes, while having small feet is mostly a huge disadvantage (is it THAT hard to make size 5?!), sometimes, it is TOTALLY AWESOME. Yes, those first 2 pairs of super cute flats are little kid shoes! Size 3! Apparently, that is equivalent to size 5, which are the slippers on the right. And, they were on sale! So I got the black & pink pairs for $4.99 each! (Lol, yes, I am loving me some black and pink lately)


And my small beauty-related haul:
Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick in Soft Nude and ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Baby lips.
I waited patiently for a really long time to get both of these!

After hearing sooo many good things about Soft Nude, I just knew I had to get me one! The packaging is slick and sexy... fishnets, anyone? The lipstick itself is super creamy and smooth. Starts out sheer but easily builds up to pigmented, shiny, pale-pinkish nude love. Definitely my new nude staple, in addition to my fav, NYX Orange Soda. ♥

Hand swatches. I really wanted to try Baby Lips because I have it in Natural Blush, but the color doesn't really work with my skin tone. Baby Lips is a super sheer, baby pink. It mostly shows up clear and takes like 57416283 layers for a hint of color to show up. However, for only $1, what I really like about this "liquid lipstick" is the texture. It's super smooth and creamy. It's thick but I wouldn't say sticky (but yes, your hair will get stuck in it), it feels comfy and moisturizing on the lips. It does have a shiny finish though, and is great for layering!
