My thoughts on the EpiStick

I just realized I haven't written any feedback about my experience with the popular EpiStick. I just recently put it up on my blog sale, thank you Khris for buying it, and I hope it works for you! =]

I bought mine for $1.29 from this ebay seller.

I heard sooo many good things about the EpiStick, but I've come to find out that maybe it just isn't for me, personally. I followed the directions for use just like I watched in the video and read in other instructions. But for whatever reason, it barely yanks out ANY of my hairs. The most I've gotten out at a time is maybe... 3. And it's painful ;_; I know I sound like such a pussy, but I'd much rather tweeze the stray hairs -_-;

I've tried it allll over my face, multiple times. Upper lip, ABOVE eyebrows, along my jawline, forehead... I think maybe it's because the hair I have on my face is very fine.... So it doesn't grip it very well?

You are suppose to bend it into an inverted U-shape and then twist the handles in opposite directions. I've tried bending it into a tight U shape, wide U shape, using small twisting motions... and twisting quote vigorously. Nothing I do yanks out much, but I still get that sharp, pinching sensation like it is. But it isn't. Regular 'ol tweezing is a lot faster and less ouchie for me.

Would I repurchase/reccommend?
I personally would not repurchase but I've heard so many rave reviews about it. So I would say it is definitely worth a shot at trying, especially because it is so inexpensive!

  1. LOL! i thought i was the only one! the epistick is OKAY! sometimes i'd rather tweeze the strays...it IS kind of hard to get every single piece of hair...but i guess it works well enough for the price! 8)

  2. OOH! I bought 4 MySpringIt's for xmas. Everyone loves theirs.
    But at first they thought it was some weird sex toy contraption.
    Mine works only on my mustache hair. It's too big for eyebrows.
    But at least you got your cheap so no biggie if it didn't work out.

  10. Interesting gadget! How would you compare the strength and pain of hair-pulling to threading?

  13. Oh ya I got that for lip and brow area hairs but it did not work. My facial hairs are also really thin, even my eyebrows. But I will say this as gross as its gonna sound. It works well on the bikini area :P Waxing can be messy, its hardd to thread that area, and shaving just doesnt cut it. Try it there if you're feeling adventureous

  14. Hey Erynn, I actually tried out the epistick 3 years ago when I saw it for $15 on a soompi forum! It didn't work out so well for me either.. it took ages to pluck out some hairs. Good thing you got it for a few bucks :)

  15. It sounds pretty painful, actually...xD Thanks for sharing your experience with us though. I was always a bit skeptical about the stuff that EVERYONE says are good...are they really that awesome?! Or is it just that when it fails, no one bothers to tell others?

  16. omg i was tempted to try lol...but i just couldn't bring myself to buy such a thing since I have a lil epilator...but now switched to threading...still haven't mastered it but hey it works fine ^^ hurts like a b*tch tho...

  17. ouch, It looks painful, I'm looking at the springy thing that supposedly grab the hair. I think I'll stick to waxing lol

  18. might be a bit late commenting - but it does hurt a little - but the epistick is way better than plucking out the little hairs one by one! And if you put your lips together and purse it (into ur mouth? @@) it wont hurt as much because your skin wont stretch and pull :) but you get use to it as well .
