Tsunami Warning for Hawaii

I was awakened at like 5 something this morning to warning sirens blaring...

from KGMB.com
"A tsunami has been generated that could cause damage along coastlines of all islands in the state of Hawaii. Urgent action should be taken... "

...Due to an 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile.
12 foot waves are expected to reach us (Hilo) at 11:05 am

...my thoughts go out to the residents of Chile...
I don't know whether to really worry or not because every time we have a warning, nothing happens. The past 2 hurricane warnings and tsunami warning we had; nothing happened. But this time it seems more... urgent. If we do get hit by a tsunami, that will be bad news because our storefront is in the danger zone. We're moving things but still... it's nerve-wracking.

...I'm glued to the news...

Hawaii blogger babes, please take care!

Tsunami warnings are so scary, I live in an area with so many earthquakes happening this past few years. :(

  2. urgh I know, I hate it! I live in san francisco, we have so many earth quakes and we get so many tsunami warnings as well. BUT, nothing ever happens. So these days I never know if I should take it seriously or not. Better to be prepared than not though, right?

  10. Yeah, every warning nothing ever happens. I woke up at 7 and my mom told me the deal so I was like "Okay, back to sleep."
Sirens have been going off all morning and I only woke up now...11. Hahaha!

I hope you guys stay safe though, especially the store.
I remember going to this restaurant in Hilo that painted lines on the window to show were the floods/tsunamis reached up to on the building. Scary...
I still have to go to work supposedly. My phone doesn't even work. AT&T sucks.
